Cold/virus for 2 1/2 weeks. Getting worse not better. GP visit or waste of time?

I've had a sort of head cold (sinus pain, tiredness and headaches) for about 2 1/2 weeks now, just about to start week 3 I think. Now it's coming out a bit more - a bit snottier, a few sneezes, a bit of a cough as well as the other symptoms, headache being the worst. Do I just limp along with it or see GP? I'm actually off work to day as feeling pretty rough with it but haven't taken any time off up until this point.

I am not a doctor but I suppose I have to ask - what is causing the issue is it just it’s going on a long time? Viruses can take a few weeks to go away
if you have symptoms of an infection, such as severe pain, a temperature, trouble breathing or think the sinus is now infected then see a GP but I would see a pharmacist first. I had this type of virus for 3 weeks and used decongestant, steam inhalation etc to relieve symptoms and would do this before seeing a doctor

Yes the issue is the length of time of it and also the fact that rather than improving it’s getting worse but I think I’ll just keep on trying home remedies for a week and see how I go. Thanks!
