Wide empty feeling in my chest (opposite of a tight chest)

It's part of an ongoing issue - I've been coughing since Easter and speaking to the GP monthly (5 lots of different meds - limited improvements)

But this is the best way to describe how my chest feels - nit like a chest infection when it feels tight and constricted

Any ideas?

@KatyMac Can you decribe the feeling a bit more? What does the GP say?

KatyMac · 21/02/2023 16:04

When you go to the beach and you can take huge deep breaths - a bit like that but less comfortable!

GP is stumped with the cough

Not allergies, reflux, asthma, irritation (scratch/itch)

Have you had a tight chest (initially) and now not used to a normal chest?? Sounds really odd, sorry OP!

justmindinmybiz · 21/02/2023 20:35

Could be reflux?

KatyMac · 21/02/2023 22:03

No i had a bit "of a chest" for a week or so with this wide feeling before and after

I've had omeprazole which improved things a bit but not significantly (neither did the blue/brown inhaler antihistamine nor the cocodamol )
