Hand Fidgeting

Hi all - worried about our 8 month old who seems to often be moving / fidgeting with his fingers. It’s not easiest thing to describe but he will often sit up with arms out and almost bending his fingers all at once. I wouldn’t say he is tensing them more just a repetitive motion.

Concerned it could be something we need to get checked out but all advice welcome.

Images are difficult to capture but some below. (Hard when it’s not the video to see the actual motion).

I don't know, someone might come along with a different answer but I'd say it's him working out he has individual fingers? At his age he'll be developing his pincer grip skills. My 7 month old makes a funny beckoning motion with her hand quite a lot and I always think it's just because she can!

Should add she also holds her arms out like that in her high chair and so do her friends in my NCT. I think it's a balance / exploring thing?

Oh i loved my babies doing that! It's so normal, discovering how their hands and little bodies work
