Darker patch on skin

First time posting here! For the last couple of years I've had a darker wrinkled looking patch on my arm, went to the doctor at the time who wasn't concerned. This has got darker and I've got a new similar patch near my elbow. They are not sore and rarely itchy. About the size of a pea if that. Ive added pictures also you can just about make them out. Any ideas? Thank you.

Could they be cafe au lait spots and so a sign of neurofibromatosis?

I don't think so as would they come at birth? I'm 38 and have the first one maybe the last 6 years, I've only noticed new one this week. Would they be sun damage? I'm a bit worried they might be

Looks like sun damage to me. I have these all over my skin and now on my face. google liver spots. They increase with age.

Thank you @tumpymummy do I need to get them removed? Would they change?
