11 month old vomitting/cold/cough

Little one has been under the weather for a few months (joys of winter) through various illnesses - chicken pox, vomitting/diarrhoea etc and a cold which has felt like he's carried through all the other illnesses. The latest one has us stumped, yesterday he was sick at nursery twice which the nursery dismissed as being phlegm/from coughing. He had his usual bottle before bed yesterday and sure enough, coughed and threw it up. Nursery were happy to have him again today as we thought it was due to the cough, picked him up this evening and they said he was sick once but it was after a massive burp so thought it could be from that. Gave him another bottle and after drinking a few ounces, threw it up but no coughing this time.

The thing that has us confused is he's quite chirpy and is eating his food as normal without being sick, so can't see this being a sickness bug? It's worth noting that he is on a hydrolysed formula and used to have reflux but hasn't for a while and this seems nothing like reflux. Any ideas would be appreciate before I get him seen by the GP tomorrow 🤞

My 3yo DS has this problem almost every time he's ill. Which during the first year of nursery seemed to be every other week.
Phlegm catches in his throat and he swallows excess air when his nose is blocked, add that to his lifelong difficulty with burping and we get a recipe for lot of food coming back up.
His appetite is rarely affected by it though.
Not much I'm able to do about it, it's unfortunately how he is.

All I can say is that they do get more resistant to these bugs over time, it will get easier 🙂

Thanks for the reply, It just seems absolutely bizarre to me that it only happens with his bottles and not his meals/snacks! He's done exactly the same again this morning so it does look like a trip to the GP unfortunately ☹

My 3 1/2 year old vomits every time she has a cold. Interestingly she used to have cmpa, soya allergy and extreme reflux.

Once they've had a big they can get a lactose intolerance.

Thanks all. GP confirmed swollen tonsils are the culprit. 🤞 he will be on the mend soon and having a break during his bottle will stop the sickness!
