Dribbling at 3.5--should I worry?

DS has always been a bit of a dribbler and when he has a cold, or hayfever symptoms, it gets much worse. But for the past 4-5 days, despite there being no sign of a cough or cold, he's been dribbling loads--so much so he has a nasty rash on his chin. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I think it's quite unusual for a 3 year old to be dribbling. I think it can be linked to problems with mouth breathing - that's probably why he dribbles more when he has cold. May be worth asking your HV or GP the next time you seem them.

Yes, perhaps he's choosing to mouth breathe for some reason, even though his nose isn't blocked as far as I can tell. Maybe I will pop in and see the HV next week.
