Can cocodamol cause palpitations or effect heart rate

Oddly, the gp asked me to take cocodamol to stop a cough I have; I have become aware of heart palpitations

Could they be connected?

I think it possibly could be from the codeine. I get a similar feeling when I take solpadeine.

It can lower heart rate. Mine goes really low after a couple of days taking it.
