Anxiety, but not anxious? Fear, but not frightened?

What is going on? I keep getting physical symptoms (? I suppose) of anxiety or fear, but I'm neither anxious nor afraid. Right now, for example, it's the first day of half-term, nothing urgent needs to be done, and I'm enjoying a contented slob in bed with the cat, when out of the blue - boom! - a sense of pressure in my chest and throat, a feeling as if my heart is racing and my head is full of cottonwool.

When I'm actually anxious, I usually feel it in my stomach, not my chest.

What is going on?

B12 / iron deficiency?
Thyroid?
Too much caffeine?
Sleep deprivation?

I have an anxiety disorder and I get this sometimes. I call it my anxiety hide and seek. It's like my body knows there is something to be worried about but my mind hasn't caught up yet.

I had it as a kid too, but never understood it, looking back I used to think I felt excitement but with nothing to actually be excited about.

Sometimes there is something to be anxious about and my mind catches up and I can sort it. Other times I just have to put up with it and ride it out.

Or sometimes I've just had too much coffee!!

Had full set of blood tests recently because of constant fatigue and brain fog - all normal.

I don't have more than 1 or 2 cups of tea in a day, sometimes none, never coffee.

I'm certainly tired all the time, but I get a reasonable amount of sleep. I don't think I'm sleep deprived.

I recognise this, but for me it shows in my bladder and gut, not my chest.
