PCOS diagnosis advice

hi! I’ve been undergoing tests and been told it’s likely I have PCOS. There’s so much conflicting information I’m finding it a bit overwhelming.

originally went to the doctors with number of symptoms. Very irregular cycles, bleeding regularly but not my period, almost constant abdominal cramps and lower back pain, pain when having sex.

I’ve had blood tests, sti checks, internal exam and waiting for a ultrasound next week.

After that it’s back to the doctor to discuss the results. So far she’s said my hormones are very imbalanced, iron is very low, blood pressure slightly raised.

I’m worried that when I next discuss results with the doctor I’ll just be fobbed off as it’s taken a while to get to this point, and where I don’t know much about this sort of thing I’ll probably just accept what she says.

However, from what I’ve read PCOS doesn’t necessarily cause the pain I’ve been experiencing.

Should I be pushing for further tests to explore other options such as endometriosis?

just feel a bit confused by it all

Not heard of pain outwith period with pcos either tbh. Have you mentioned endo to the GP, what did they say?
If you don't get replies here, you could try posting in Conception (even if you're not TTC) as there's loads of people battling endo and pcos there.
Even if ithe ultrasound does find pcos, i guess that doesn't mean you don't have something else as well. Hopefully it is just pcos though, as a lot of people can manage it just with inositol and keeping weight healthy. It's not that bad as diagnoses go. (Obviously some people do have a harder time with it).
