I feel silly for posting, I have seen doctors in last few weeks re my baby struggling with feeding she has been priority to me and getting her sorted that I never mentioned to doctor…

I gave birth 5 weeks ago and in the last week experiencing this headache pain that comes on suddenly like lightning lasting few seconds then goes again but happening everyday. Sometimes it lingers a little longer but always on the left side. It can occour anytime even sitting but movement seems more a trigger. No other things happening. I’ve not thought much on it but had hoped it would have gone. 😕 I am Autistic and feel silly

My pregnancy was fine but at 37 weeks I was taken into hospital due to high blood pressure and monitored as was high but it never turned into preclampsia. The birth was all natural gas and air. Then had a retained placenta so went into theatre for spinal etc. baby arrived at 38 weeks

Only birth problems I’ve noticed is vaginally but headaches are more new everyday in last week or so. No visual changes like when in near of pregnancy i had stars none of that! Just left side head pain

My mum has said tension headaches and told health visitor this and said to doctor I had tension headache during app about baby but doctor never mentioned treatment. I have my 6 week check up on Wednesday, can anyone relate and say that its treatable?

I did wonder if it’s due to lack of sleep but even lately with getting some sleep in not really improving.

Not silly at all, no need to feel that.

I think there’s a type of eclampsia you can develop post birth. Just be careful it’s not that?

Is your blood pressure ok? High bp and headaches would indicate pre eclampsia which is serious and should be treated. If your bp is ok then give it a few weeks and see if it settles. Your body has been through a lot and there are quite often mysterious things occurring post childbirth!

Something to see Dr about. I could be lots of things - most likely something like migraine, but you might need to be investigated to make sure it isn’t anything else.

Many congrats OP.

See your GP, could be migraines, due to hormone fluctuations. But definitely worth seeing your GP to get some treatment.

It must be really difficult to care for your new baby, whilst experiencing these symptoms. I hope you feel better soon.

Could be headaches from the spinal? I think that’s a thing. Hope you get it sorted asap, sounds awful.
