Repeat Bloods. Why?

I had bloods done a few days ago, I’ve been unwell since getting Covid 4 weeks ago - fatigue, breathlessness, cough, that sort of thing.

GP receptionist just called and said doctor wants me to have repeat bloods in two weeks. I asked why, but she didn’t know and got a bit snippy with me just repeating that I need to book in for more bloods in two weeks.

Obviously, no one can tell me why without looking at the results but just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of why a GP might want repeat bloods?

Probably one was above range and they want to see if it returns to normal.

Nothing immediately concerning with the results but something was a bit out of range and they are just making sure that it stabilises or returns to normal in 2 weeks.

If you get the NHS app you can see your test results yourself.

I have the app but it doesn’t show me the results. I asked the receptionist she said I can get a print out when I come in two weeks

I wouldn’t be worried about it, they are often just a blip, and ok on retesting.
And my DS can’t see blood results on his app either.

The app is odd - I can see the results from bloods taken when I'm an inpatient, but not when the GP takes the bloods. No idea how to sort that out.

FunnyItWorkedLastTime · 04/02/2023 11:51

That's odd. I can see all my bloods on my app immediately they're processed (I get a lot to check my thyroid is in balance).

Our hospital system can only view results of bloods taken there, not via gp. It is not joined up!
