Has anyone had this please? Mine seems to be causing tinnitus. Feeling so tired and in pain.

Have you managed to get on antivirals quickly? Be aware of post herpetic neuralgia which is very common and really painful after shingles on head and face. It happened to a colleague and she is still on medication 6 months on. I am so sorry. It is really bad luck to get it on your face.

I have git the antivirals yes. I got them a day or two ago and the GPs were good with that, ringing me back after an email.

However today unfortunately all of the emergency slots had been taken for a call back this afternoon. I wondered about them adding some steroids. Was advised to contact 111 if I 'felt I needed seen before Monday'.

Thankfully the face is seeming a bit better in terms of the numbness. I also have some of the stronger co-codomol for pain relief (pack of 100) these seem useful and helping with the pain.

I am hoping not to get that PHN on the face. The worst pain these seems into the jawbone throat and ear. Thankfully not the eye though.

Since my first episode have had many flare ups of pain on my back, unsure if this was shingles again or PHN.

Hi Oranges, I had shingles in the ear about 14 years ago. The GP gave me an antiviral and a steroid and I remember they worked quickly to start calming everything down, but the pain was searing and I took ibuprofen and paracetamol back to back 24 hours a day for a week.

I would say ring 111 to get seen sooner than Monday for some steroids.

Hope you feel better soon, it is a horrid thing. 💐💐
