hormonal spots and menstrual changes

Hello - I'm unable to get a doctors appointment so in the mean time wondering if anyone has any thoughts on my current menstrual situation!

For about 9-12 months my skin has gone from fairly normal/odd spot now and then, to full on acne around the lower cheeks, mouth and chin. these are really painful boils, whiteheads (sorry...) and just generally horrible spots, appearing maybe 2-4 at a time. They appear suddenly and even if I don't touch them they all leave scars/blemishes. Possibly worse at different times but spots appear all month long.

It looks worse than it ever looked as a teenager, I'm late 30's now.

Combined with this, my hair is suddenly getting greasier quicker, whereas before it used to take a few days. And now my last two periods have been odd, starting a bit earlier than expected and then being really quite light in comparison to usual.

Don't know what any of this means but wanted to ask if anyone thinks these things are connected.

Thinking I need a blood test but any thoughts on what this could mean before I google and worry myself?

thank you

I'm here looking for advice with similar issues. I have always had poor skin. Acne into my 30's and then later told that I actually have rosacea. I had got the rosacea well controlled with diet and skincare but now my skin has begun to get greasy again like when I was a teen and lots of horrid hormonal spots. I am guessing for me it's changing hormones, I'm mid 40's now. I don't want to go on the pill and the antibiotics never seemed to work, they just made my skin more sensitive.

Sorry I can't shed any light on why your skin has suddenly changed, just wanted to offer some solidarity.
