Surgery with a cold

Hi, looking for onions please. I'm scheduled in to have surgery tomorrow but have woken up this morning with a cold (stuffy nose). I can't get hold of my health team at the moment so looks like i'm still going to go tomorrow but does anyone know if my surgery will be likely to be cancelled? So frustrating as i've been waiting just over a year

They may need you to do a covid test if you are unwell.
They may cancel if you have a temp but may go ahead if it’s just a bit snuffly. Hard to say really.

Phone the consultants secretary and ask if you can get hold of anyone else. She can then speak to the consultant and get back to you.

Not necessarily. I had a cough and cold when I had my bowel removed. They did do a cove test a few days before though and was already an inpatient so was isolated until the surgery date.

Depends on what the surgery is for. Like a pp said if you have covid definitely not. But when they do your obs, if all are normal then I shouldn't see why not.

thank you for your replies, surgery should be straight forward & home the same day

I did a covid test on Saturday & today and will be doing another one tomorrow morning as requested by the hospital for admittance - all nageative

I don't have a temperature or sore throat, just a bit snuffly so fingers crossed it will go ahead
