Blue stains on bedding

Strange one !
over the last few months mysterious blue stains have appeared in my side of the bed. Where my body is
Could it be due to the considerable stress I’m under ? Or maybe the paracetamol I take at night when I get headaches changing the type of sweat I produce ? Or maybe hormonal changes as I’m not far away from 50

A bit of a wildcard suggestion but…have you been wearing new jeans? The dye could be transferring to your skin and then to your bedding when you sweat during the night.

Rawandreal74 · 29/01/2023 17:38

No I don’t wear jeans very often and the ones I do wear are fairly old
don’t think it’s that
very odd really

Do you wear dark clothing or maybe new pjs? I've had a few things that the dye has stained my skin slightly and when warm then stains what is touched. It's ruined 2 blankets I have. The dye on skin isn't really even visible to the naked eye so really annoying.
Other idea is do you use washing pods in your washing machine? I have known quite a few of those to cause blue or green marks where they obviously haven't dissolved correctly. Powder doesn't cause this issue.
Hope you find the cause!

Are you a smurf?

Rawandreal74 · 29/01/2023 18:44

I wish I was a Smurf ! They seem to be really happy

It could be my detergent I guess but husband doesn’t leave same stain ?!

Are you using a new body lotion or shower gel?
Did you get new PJs recently?
Have you dyed your hair?

How dark is the blue? I wear black knickers to bed and if they're even slightly new, it leaves a dark blue stain.

Fake tan???

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 29/01/2023 20:51

Sudocreme and other things containing lavender oil can leave blue stains.

Rawandreal74 · 31/01/2023 19:25

Ahhh !! Think it’s my new knickers !!
thanks all

Have you recently lent your soft furnishings to a sanitary towel or nappy advert company by any chance? They always pour blue liquid into them.

ReamsOfCheese · 31/01/2023 19:26

Ah X post never mind.

Hey! Did you get to the bottom of it - was it actually your underwear? I've been having this too and apparently it's chromhidrosis - harmless but causes your sweat glands to secrete coloured sweat.
