Had mole biopsy, booked in for removal - why did they ask if I am on holiday in next 2 weeks?

As the title, I had a mole biopsy, booked in for removal next week - why did they ask if I am on holiday in next 2 weeks?
(its a lentigo maligna)

Probably because after mole removal you're supposed to keep the skin out of the sun as much as possible so if you were going on a sunny beach hol they'd want to know.

Why didn't you just ask them why they needed to know? They'll know the answer better than anyone on Mumsnet would.

Perhaps because they want to know if you are around if any follow up treatment needed which is probably unlikely but they just want to check . ( I am not a doctor ) I have had moles removed and they did ask me to come back if in the unlikely event I felt any side effects

Most likely so they could give you advice about staying out of the sun etc

Good idea to ask them any questions you have (sometimes you dont think of at the time though)

because when they phoned, I didnt register all the questions - i had to call back to ask what the issue was

I had another mole removed at the time of biopsy, and they didnt say anything about holidays then, thats why I thought it was a bit odd

When I ha to the breast clinic, they asked me that - they said it was because you shouldn't go swimming for a few days after a biopsy (in the end, I didn't need a biopsy).
