Implant supported dentures

My teeth are a mess, I got turned down for NHS implants but appealed & got a phone call this morning to say I'm now on the waiting list for the Implant clinic. Has anyone had this type of implants done? I'm now starting to get very nervous, exactly how painful is it & how soon can you eat normally afterwards?

I didn’t think the NHS offered implants, how many will you need OP?

I got refused & appealed, didn't hear anything for ages & got a phone call yesterday. I can't tolerate dentures, I had a temporary one a few years ago when waiting for a bridge, I was suicidal after 3 days. I need all my bottom teeth. I always went to the dentist every 6 months, had a brilliant dentist then he sold the practice & it went from 4 full time dentists to 1 part time, he never had any appointments, every time I rang it was ring back in 3 months, then the pandemic hit & dentists closed. I saw him twice & he kicked me off his list because I have mobility issues & need to come in the back door. Then I had to be referred to the community dentist, I waited 6 months to get an appointment, I've been twice & she has done nothing, all my bottom teeth have crumbled or snapped off, I clean my teeth 3 times a day, use high fluoride toothpaste & a waterpick, I can't do any more.
