Eczema on my face and eyelids

I've been given some cream for it, but should I gently exfoliate to get rid of the flakes before applying the cream?

thanks pc - good advice. will atemp t a bath when dh gets here.have a big bag of bicarb in the cupboard so will start with that.
have dug out the fan we use in summer to get cool air going.

That's another crap part of having eczema- it's like a thousand tiny open wounds so you're liable to get infections and other problems to boot. I remember getting an awful kind of hybrid rash all over when my eczema got infected by my friends impetigo as a teen.
