Allergy testing

Constantly bloated. Every day now. I can't take it anymore. Doctor says I'm just fat. I've never been fat before but I have put on weight in the last couple of years. I was actually underweight in 2019!
My arms and legs don't seem that dissimilar to before but my stomach is huge.
So down today as yet again I look pregnant but I have to go out and am so ashamed at how I look I need to sort it out. Does anyone know what I have to do to be tested for allergies?

You're doctor said you're 'just fat'? Surely they've done tests and bloods to check for gastro and gynae isssues, have they booked a gynae uss?

If not you must go back and ask for a full set of investigations. What's your diet like, have you tried the obvious of reducing milk products?

If this is new, just happened in recent months I doubt it is allergy related. Sadly it seems you need to be pushy but a women presenting with new and significant constant bloating should be thoroughly investigated. Good luck.

Thanks @Janiie I got on the scales at the GP and he said wow that is a lot more than you were before. I was so humiliated at this point I didn't say much.
He said he thinks I'm just fat and what am I doing about losing weight (bmi was 28 at that point don't know what it is now)

I am very shy and timid and that really put me off going again as he's the only FT doctor and it's a real battle to even be seen at my GP plus I haven't lost any weight afaik since and feel too ashamed.
I thought if it was anything sinister he would say because I was saying I can't understand why my stomach in particular is always so hard and big. He did feel my stomach. I'd have thought if it was fat it wouldn't be hard to press on. But I've never been overweight before!

Op I'm flabbergasted on your behalf.

It may well be just excess weight but your gp isnt psychic and can't tell by looking. It could be anything from an ovarian cyst to something serious. Particularly as you haven't been overweight before and it's all round your abdo area. Compl3aings of bloating in a woman should immediately necessitate tests.

Please go back. Request bloods and an abdominal uss to rule out anything worrying.

If things come back clear as they hopefully will then maybe look at diet and excluding certain things to see if you can get to the bottom of it.
