Hi
The last day or two I've been getting a sore spot at my lower lip line.
I rarely get spots but when I do they are often around my nose and quite big / sore for a few days so I assumed it was this but nearer my mouth.
Today I've woken up and the sore spot looks quite white and I can't be sure it isn't a cold sore. I've never knowingly had one before.
I went to the pharmacy to get advice. The pharmacist basically didn't look at it. Just asked if it was sore and said ok assume it's a cold sore then. Here are some compeed barrier plasters.
I can cope with the embarrassment of a Mount Everest sized sore but I'm extremely scared for my 14 week old baby. I'm completely terrified I've already passed it to her or will pass it to her.
I'm washing my hands like there's no tomorrow but up til this morning I've kissed her cheek and she's been touching my face lots and chewing her hands. The nhs website essentially says if you pass it to babies it's super serious and many who get it die.
Part of my brain is just saying I'm overly worrying but if she gets it and it harms her or worse.... I'm just terrified for her.
