Slightly High Potassium Levels

I've just had my annual blood test to test for Diabetes. GP has rung today to say they need to repeat the bloods because my potassium level was slightly raised. What could this mean? Is there anything I can do?

I had this and was told you sometimes get a contaminated reading and to redo the test which reminds me I must make another appointment.

I had this recently. It was a false high reading. Very common apparently.

Isn't potassium found in the likes of avocados and bananas etc? I think it can be elevated if you have eaten lots.

Fingers crossed its just a blip then. I don't feel unwell in any way.

Any update? I’ve had high potassium since January. Getting bloods taken every 2 weeks to monitor and still no answers! I’m so stressed 😩

Sorry to hear that, for me it was just a blip, second bloods came back normal. Hope you get some answers soon
