Coping with Haemorrhoids

Hi all, looking for help and advice with my issue.
In 2018 I developed three external Haemorrhoids whilst pregnant. These resolved following the birth but I was left with skin tags.
I've had no problems with them since then up until 4 weeks ago when I suddenly developed one after an illness which included excessive vomiting.
I saw my GP after 3 weeks of suffering who said it was quite small and to just keep using Anusol cream. However, a couple of days following this I developed another one within one of the existing skin tags and I'm really seriously suffering. I saw the GP again yesterday and she said I have three external now. She's suggested a few things but if they don't resolve in a weeks time to come back and she'll refer me.
I'm suffering with constant itching which is driving me crazy and making me utterly miserable. Night time is the worst. I'm losing a lot of sleep and it's affecting my daily life.
This is what I'm taking:
3 x antihistamine daily
Paracetamol 4 times daily
Ibuprofen 3 times daily
Anusol hydrocortisone cream
Anusol wipes
Lactulose twice daily
I've tried ice packs and sitz baths which help briefly.
The anti histamine seems to work best but i took one at 10pm last night and only had three hours of relief and woke up at 1am with insane itching.
Can anyone offer any other suggestions? I'm desperate.
thank you for listening.

I would ask your GP to refer you to a colorectal special at your local hospital so they can look and potentially do banding of the haemoroids and surgically remove them - my friend had hers done she felt much better

A topical painkiller with lidocaine might help, like instillagel from the pharmacy. Not sure if can be used with the anusol hc, but pharmacy can advise.

There are other creams you can put on - my friend who had cancer suffered terribly from them, and had a strong one on prescription.

You poor thing.

I know that they can be very itchy but might be worth taking something for threadworms in case it's that? They cause extreme itching at night.

Ive had a similar problem over the years following childbirth and the only treatment that has ever worked for me is an ointment called Scheriproct which is on prescription from the doctors its saved me a few times.
Hope you get sorted

Thanks everyone. Sorry for the late reply. Just been suffering with a migraine for the past two days 😭 Probably stress 🥺

Ironically, the migraine has taken the edge off my backend issue. I think sleeping on my side for the past two days might have helped. It’s still bothering me a bit but they have shrunk a little.
Im going back to the doctors for a review on Wednesday so will see how it is then and might ask for some different cream like the ones mentioned here.

OhIdoLike2bBesideTheSeaside - I have been considering surgery. Apparently they can only do the banding on certain types. Can they band external ones do you know?
