Chest pains/abnormal ecg but not a heart attack

Anyone have experience of severe chest pains and an abnormal ecg? (Tachicardia, 1st degree AV block and T wave abnormality for anyone who knows what that means!)

I was admitted last night. Pain has completely subsided though my heart is still racing. Heart attack and blood clots have been ruled out but the docs seem stumped as to what it is.
I also have a slightly raised temp and bloods showed some slightly raised infection markers.

Waiting to see a specialist but would be interested to hear anyone else's experiences and what it turned out to be?

I had a similar thing just a few days before Xmas. I just tore up the ecg paramedics left behind today. Awful chest pains and a feeling like a lorry was sitting on my chest. ECG showed very slow pulse rate 48bps, and signs of some blockage. Bloods were taken at hospital and infection, etc were all ruled out but given painkillers and pain has now all gone. Was told the low pulse rate is normal for some people and I could be one of them.

I hope you get to the bottom of it, it's worrying.

Could be some sort of inflammation of the heart muscle - myocarditis type thing. I’m not an expert though! Hope you feel better soon and they get to the bottom of things.

I had a similar experience and symptoms. I was eventually diagnosed with SVT (supraventricular tachycardia). I had to have a catheter ablation done to burn the part of the heart that was causing the issue. Touch wood, I've not had another attack in several years. l was told to avoid caffeine so have switched to decaffeinated coffee.

Oh that's interesting @MissMarplesbag as I have noticed that my heart sometime starts racing for no reason and my pulse is often close to 100.

How are you now?

Thank you @Tonty & @Xrays it is worrying but I thought I was dying when I had the chest pains so I'm grateful to still be here!

@MissAtomicBomb1 I'm much better now thank you. It was scary for a few years as the pain & fast heart beats would come on suddenly. They would go on for a while and stop as suddenly as they came on. It was diagnosed when the hospital did an ECG mid attack & recorded my heart beat as over 175.

As soon as I had the procedure I felt much better although the Dr did warn me that it could return. But so far, touch wood 🤞, all is well.

Ah pleased to hear you're better now MissMarplesbag.

I have been diagnosed with pericarditis which is inflammation of the sac around the heart. The doctor thinks it was probably caused by a virus. I have some strong anti inflammatories and it should clear up in a few weeks. Glad it's something relatively mild!

I thought I had written this post! That was me, I've had angio, all clear, waiting for echo but have stopped googling as everything suggested heart failure! I too am thinking pericarditis now ...

Yes Google is a scary place!
Hope you get some answers soon. If it is Pericarditis you might be given some anti inflammatory tablets to help, though mine seems to have disappeared as quickly as it started!

Hi,
I am wondering whether anyone can offer any advice/reassurance.
My 20 year old has been suffering with palpations. We've been to A and E twice. First visit he had bloods and 2 ecgs. First one was normal second one noted as "suggests Left Ventricular hypertrophy", he also had a chest x ray which was normal. Second visit he had bloods and another ecg, normal again.
He has been referred for an echocardiogram. I'm beside myself with worry 😟
