A little nervous about physio appt

I'm being daft really!!! After what I went through last week you'd have thought this would be a walk in the park. I've got my first physio appt this afternoon. Only its not my proper appt. the waiting list is so long that they've offered me an pre-appointment appointment for advice and exercise only! Will I need to get undressed for this? My psoriasis is beginning a flare so my torso is all spotty. I'm not normally self conscious about that but I'm a bit 'emotionally fragile' at the moment.

Well anyway!
it was fine. Apparently it was a triage appt which makes sense. Didnt have to get undressed just tuck my t-shirt under my bra iyswim. Lots of bending (or attempts to) and movements.

I've to go back in 3 weeks when he will see me again with a senior physio for a joint assessment. Afterwards I couldnt work out whether that meant that the two of them would assess me together or that they would be assessing my joints..... Then rather puzzlingly he said they wanted people like me..... I guess I must fit into some study profile or something....

Anyway turns out that he thinks my pelvis is twisted and the bottom of my spine sticks out rather. Makes me sound so elegant Not sure how that all fits into my psoriatic arthritis diagnoses. I guess I'll find out more in 3 weeks.

Glad it went OK, BadKitten - afraid I don't know your story, but did see the threads about your eye op - how's all that now?

BadKitten · 05/02/2008 15:31

Its not quite as clear as it was on saturday (when it was glorious) but its not as uncomfortable as it was yesterday when I phoned hospital. I guess these things take time to settle. Thank you for asking

My lower back pain has been diagnosed as psoriatic arthritis in the past. I get severe psoriasis. have had lots of steroids which they think provoked the cataracts. I must sound like a raving hypochondriac atm It all seems to be happening at once. I promise I don't always wobble on about my health!

YOu don't sound like a hypochondriac at all - just someone who's dealing with a lot of different things all at the same time. Hope the eyes settle down, and get clearer again, and hope they can do something about the back pain. Must be incredibly tiring for you.

thank you for the sympathy! Its so nice to be able to have a whinge. I do get pretty tired as it wakes me a lot but its not nearly as tiring as early days of parenthood - these things are all relative!
