Can't concentrate

I developed epilepsy a couple of years ago. It's all under control now and I take medication for it.

Since developing it, my brain has completely changed. I can no longer focus, struggle with memory, can be a bit scatty.

I've got a new job in the office and I keep doing everything wrong because of it. So many of my emails are wrong. It's just little details like the time of something, or calling someone the wrong name, or asking a question that I've already asked. When they send me loads of work I completely fall apart because I'm new and don't understand what I'm doing it's like my brain just shuts down. I can't think, I can't put a coherent email together, loads of mistakes etc.

Having looked it up, I've probably got inattentive ADHD. Does anyone have any tips about how they deal with this? My new team must think I'm an absolute moron.

Also with emails..I think I've read them properly and then realise later that I've completely missed something even though I read the email a few times.

My brain does not work.

You have my sympathies. I am also epileptic (controlled) and have inattentive ADHD? What medication are you on? I take lamotrigine and had side effects as soon as I started on it. My short term memory disappeared, I can’t hold a thought in my head for more than 10 seconds, I say the wrong words all the time, e.g. hello instead of goodbye. I really struggle at work and it has affected my ability but I just about get away with it. Did you have any of these symptoms before your diagnosis? It could well just be the medication. I had problems focusing before and the usual adhd issues but this has made everything worse and it is stressful.
