Positive preg test but not pregnant, low blood count and random bleeding

Am I being unreasonable to worry that something untoward might be going on?

I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it appeared to show positive however all subsequent tests have showed BFN. My iron blood count levels are now HB 119 down from last year and I’ve been getting random bleeding/ blood in urine when I’m not on my period.

All of the above is worrying me a bit. Has anyone else dealt with anything similar or do the above point to symptoms of anything? I also get stomach pain sporadically although it’s not debilitating and heart palpitations.

You need to go to the doctors ASAP. Only way to know. It doesn't sound right. Not to scare you but I saw a similar storyline on holby city years ago and although it's dramatised they use things like that to bring awareness etc.

It could all be nothing but air on the side of caution. Is it possible you might have been pregnant and its an early MC?

@Bumblebee412 it’s such a nightmare getting an appointment 😫 but yeah you’re right I do. What happened in the storyline?

I would def get this looks at, it could possibly be an ectopic pregnancy. I had one before eith positive then beg tests.

can u get seen and referred for a scan maybe?

Grenola · 11/01/2023 21:43

But aside from the positive pregnancy test, these symptoms arnt nice for u and arnt normal so get some tests ran xx

Yutes · 11/01/2023 21:46

Sorry but I echo PP. This could possibly be an ectopic pregnancy. I had some symptoms very similar to this and I required emergency surgery.

If no GP will see you, then ring 111. If no 111 then appear at a&e. Seriously.

Thanks everyone, I will be making a doctors appointment first thing. Just feel like all I’ve done in the last year is get doctors appointments for various things! I hope they don’t think I’m wasting their time.

I can't remember exactly cause I'm talking like 10 years ago easily but I think the character had blood in urine so thought it was a uti but there was a chance she was pregnant so took a test and it was positive but bloods showed negative etc. It might have been the dreaded C but please don't quote me on that and I think it's highly unlikely.

As Pps have mentioned though be on the look out for ectopic symptoms too. One sided pain, shoulder pain, etc.

You defo need answers from a medical professional x

Yutes · 11/01/2023 22:13

Most ectopic pregnancies may only display 2 of the “classic” symptoms. And they may not be the obvious ones. So don’t let the list of symptoms give you false reassurance not to chase up with a medic

HopefulRose · 13/01/2023 09:37

Doctor has booked me in for a blood test on Tuesday so just a few days to get proper confirmation

Glad you're booked in, what was the line like on the positive and what brands did you use were the test from the same pack etc? If the line was colourless could have been and evap line aswell x

Yutes · 22/01/2023 09:30

How are you doing @HopefulRose ?

HopefulRose · 23/01/2023 23:00

@Yutes hi Yutes, thanks for checking in. I am not pregnant! We’ve chalked it up to it being a dodgy old test. I have a gynae app next week though to discuss random bleeding episodes. Hoping it’s nothing serious.

Well that’s something at least. Hopefully it’s all ok. Fingers crossed
