I have suffered from boils previously, to varying degrees but apart from being on antibiotics years ago during a really bad patch, I had dealt with them myself.
I haven't had any in about 18 months now. But felt a swelling start yesterday and now it is the size of a golf ball. But it doesn't have a head yet. It is definitely up there with some of the most painful I have had, dread going to the toilet as have to swear out loud or grit my teeth when I sit down.
I think it is worse this time as I am already run down (had general bad cold/bug over Christmas). But today has just been a constant headache, dealing with my blocked ear, sore throat and feeling hot constantly.
I am taking paracetamol and ibuprofen (can't take anything stronger because of my medication). Any tips for relief?
