What will a cheat x Ray rule out?

I've had a persistent cough and Gp has done bloods which was all ok, and a chest x Ray which was all clear.
Can anyone tell me what exactly a chest x Ray will have ruled out please?

I am not sure. But the same thing happened to me. In the end they decided it was GERD. It wasn't.

It turned out to be cleaning sprays which were causing me to cough.

It can rule out infection, pneumonia, lung disease, cancer, heart failure, collapsed lung etc.

To rule out Tuberculoses.

If there was a cheat X-ray, MN would fall apart!!
