Inspired by another thread but does this look OK or is it suspect? It's been there for about 3 weeks and I have no idea what it is

Is it a blood blister?

bloodywhitecat · 03/01/2023 18:21

I don't think so, it is completely flush to the skin.

Blood blisters can be completely flush to the skin. If it suddenly appeared overnight it's most likely a blister of some sort. Anything sinister would grow slowly over time.

bloodywhitecat · 03/01/2023 19:07

@Whywhywhywhy3 Thank you, that is very reassuring as it did appear suddenly, I will give it more time to disappear as suddenly as it came.

Ooh! I've had similar appear on my toe. It arrived early December. Assumed blood blister and poked to no avail. I've now decided it's a new mole and will monitor it for changes.

bloodywhitecat · 03/01/2023 19:35

That looks very similar to mine and they appeared at about the same sort of time. Spooky!

I'd get it looked at. A friend had to have part of a toe removed due to skin cancer.

I used a skin analysis app recommended here which compared it to skin cancers and said not to worry just monitor and check in 3 months. However, it also said an actual dermatologist would look at the picture and report back, so I'm waiting on that. I may then just send both that and the photo to my GP with an appointment request.

I almost posted and came across yours! Bizarre!

If you think it is a mole and definitely not a blood blister, you should get it checked out. New large moles on soles of feet/toes/under nails should be checked out. You are not wasting anyone's time in doing so.
