How did you lower your cholesterol without medication ?

Just that.
If you needed to lower your cholesterol before you needed to use medication what did you do ?

I walk more and take lower cholesterol yoghurt drink. Mine went down from 5.9 to 4.9.

My cholesterol was 5.7 and I also have high blood pressure so Dr wanted me to take statins. I started walking more, drinking cholesterol lowering yoghurt, cutting out high fat foods (primarily butter cheese). After four months I have reduced my cholesterol to 5.5. I must admit to being very disappointed.

It's the ratio of good to bad that's the important number, more than the overall number itself which is like a ballpark figure.
LDL cholesterol (bad) is made In the liver and if high, can be hereditary. All the diet and lifestyle issues in the world won't make a lot of difference. Triglycerides (bad fats) are more likely to respond, as are HDL (good fats) to lifestyle efforts.
Ask for the ratio. Less than 4.5 is preferable.

I did all the usual lifestyle change stuff. So I lost weight, ate more healthily, cut out food between meals, exercised more and used the Benecol type drinks. It got me down from 5.3 to 3.8 in 3 months.
