I had a flexible cystoscopy 19 days ago. From the offset it was the most unpleasant experience. I was ushered into a cubicle and told to quickly change into gown as Dr was in a rush. Was told by nurse that he had told them to get me in quickly as he had a shuttle bus he needed to catch!! Fabulous thought I. Already seems to be a right asshole so can only imagine what he's going to be like up close. Once taken into theatre/room he was very erratic and scatty. I had to be first on list due to my latex allergy. The surgical pack with gloves etc was right there on the side next to him, three times he shrieked at the nurse "where are my gloves". Anyway onto the procedure and he was so rough - like a psychopathic David Bellamy, rummaging through forest undergrowth, there was no need, trust me, all was clearly visible, minimal "rummaging" would have found my urethra. Site located, perineum in shock at the possibility it was about to be ripped (and not evena joyous mini human bundle to show for it), he gave the area a quick and rather heavy handed clean down, squeezed what was to be numbing gel- which was never gonna happen, given the cystocope was inserted seconds after it was squeezed onto area. Words about light not being on, much discomfort, me complaining to nurse that he was hurting me, was rough and rude. Probably no more than three minutes. He withdrew the scope, said he couldn't see anything in particular and told me I needed to do vaginal douching every night. I told him this is not something I have always been told isn't healthy for vagina and was met with further aggression and rudeness " am I telling him how to do his job!"
I left the room really upset and angry and told the nurse I was furious about how rude and rough he was to be told, that's just his culture. My reply was no that's not cultural, that's just plain and simple rudeness.
Anyway since having procedure I have a contant feeling that everything is about to push through my urethra/ vagina. It's almost as if there's a hole and everytime I clear my throat, or wee, or bear down to empty my bowels, that my bladder is about to plop out of my urethra and the front of my vagina. A wierd and uncomfortable sensation and its getting worse. Also sometimes struggle to pee and when I stand up after going, thinking 8 have finished, urine drips everywhere. I am really worried he may have caused some damage to my urethra during procedure given how rough he was. Has anyone experienced similar and actually discovered there has been some damage caused?
