Am I overreacting?

Dr appointment is booked but I do suffer with anxiety so just to get some perspective does this look like anything serious?

It’s on my thumb and I’ve had it a while but just seems to have changed in shape, I always put it down to having dry skin.

If anyone has any experience I’d real appreciate some advice! My mum is going through skin cancer treatment but it’s a very rare and aggressive form so now I’m worrying about everything!

Am I overreacting?

I feel for you as I too suffer from health anxiety, and I'm so sorry for what your mum is going through.

From the picture it honestly doesn't look like anything bad to me, but I'm no medical expert.
I have had a few funny looking things that seemed similar to it in the past (including a wart which I really freaked out about) and they have always just disappeared eventually.

I'm sure the GP will be able to reassure you.

I think it looks like a wart

logic tells me wart, and I’m sorry you all have to look at my horrible dry hand but I do appreciate your opinions thank you

Don't worry, my hands are much drier (bloody winter!)

I hope the GP can reassure you (I do think it looks most likely like a wart but you are right to get it double checked- health anxiety or not)

I hope your mum's treatment goes well
