Left-side sudden stomach pain

PragmaticWench · 29/12/2022 22:55

Straight after dinner this evening I've developed a pain in the left of my abdomen, it feels as though someone is pushing the area over my stomach. It's on the left, midway between my belly button and my side, also sore lower left if I press there. Continuous pain/discomfort rather than waves and I've never had this before, in fact I very rarely get any stomach pain.

Anyone have any idea? I'm not constipated, no diarrhoea, no nausea or acid reflux.

I had the same just about a year ago. There can be many, many causes.

Mine turned out to be diverticular disease.

Thanks, it's really knocking me for six. Did anything help reduce your pain?

Mine was on the right but otherwise similar and was a kidney infection. Came on suddenly. I felt generally awful. Important to get on top of quickly. As pp says, many causes.

Mine was on the left still haven’t quite got to the bottom of it. But I found a water bottle or heated pad, Buscopan (the one that says something about cramp) and some sort of codeine tablets prescribed by the hospital and following a low fat low sugar bland diet helped me.

Also how old are you could it be mid cycle ovulation pain, or more to do with bowels digestion? Take care

Definitely not ovulation or anything reproductive. It eased about three and I managed to sleep.

I was borderline on a uti this week but have drank plenty of water and my urine is very pale again. Thinking kidney pain would be at the back not the front?
