I haven’t had this but do know that David Cheung in Birmingham is an excellent eye specialist & one of the top eye surgeons in U.K. who I’ve seen for tear trough filler & would go back to for any future work; I’d recommend getting this moved to Style & Beauty as well as there’s posters on there who have had this. Good luck!

I had upper lids done in the summer and don't regret it one little bit. I didn't think I needed the lower eyes doing at the same time, but I regret not doing them at the same time now.

@brittanyfairies can I ask if it changed your appearance? My upper eyelids are sitting very low onto my lashes so this is something I am considering next year. Dh is worried my eyes will look different and I won't be happy. Quite frankly I am unhappy with how they look now, tired, no point wearing eye make up.

@ThistleSifter how did you research good eye surgeons? I am a complete novice to this.

brittanyfairies · 31/12/2022 14:43

@Treeofglitter i didn't tell anyone I'd done it, i went off on holiday and came back with new eyes. All the comments I've received since I did it in August have been how great i look. But they can't quite put their finger on why I look great.

In my opinion my left i was so droopy I looked like I'd had a stroke, and now it's not. I am delighted with the results, i wish I had done my lower eyes at the same time. I still look like me but just a bit brighter and more awake.

Treeofglitter · 31/12/2022 16:17

@brittanyfairies thank you for that. I don't feel like I can tell my friends I am doing it for vanity reasons and cost. We were trying to work out when I could schedule it so that I can recover in secret.

Turnedacorner · 31/12/2022 16:26

@brittanyfairies can you please share who your surgeon is?

brittanyfairies · 31/12/2022 16:27

@treeofglitter Within 24 hours of the operation I had 2 massive black eyes, but because it was summer I hid behind sunglasses when I went out during the day and nobody could see and I stayed home on an evening. My friend joined me on holiday 10 days later and by then the bruising was very slight, 12 days after the op we went on a cruise and I was wearing makeup during the evening and nothing was noticeable. Now 6 months later I can't see any scarring at all. My reasons for not telling anyone were the same as yours and I'm so glad I did it, just psychologically for me it has its benefits. Last year was a difficult year, this little op gave my self esteem the boost it needed

Treeofglitter · 31/12/2022 16:34

@brittanyfairies thank you again. I think it is good to know about recovery times etc. I was also thinking sunglasses for day time recovery too hence the research now.

Like Turned asked, would you be happy to name your surgeon?

brittanyfairies · 31/12/2022 17:18

I don't live in the UK so probably of no use to you sorry

ThistleSifter · 01/01/2023 16:28

I did extensive googling of “top eye surgeon U.K.” “top eye plastic surgeon U.K.” and went down a massive rabbit hole before looking at Dr Cheung who is based in Birmingham and is the top NHS eye consultant lead across several hospitals for reconstructive plastic surgery etc also with outstanding cosmetic reviews.

So I’m extremely pleased I found him & although I only had tear trough fillers, I only wanted the best person to go near my eyes - he’s not the cheapest though.

I would go back in the future and for bleph I’d only really consider him due to his experience. I’ve also seen him recommended by others on MN since as well on the S&B board.

Good luck whoever you go with & happy new year!
