My 4 year old son has been ill for the past 3 weeks.
it all started with a high temperature, snotty nose and cough. At the start I was giving him ibuprofen medicine which helped with the temperature but not the cough.
After the 1st week, he’s cough was getting worse so I called 111 and managed to get a doctor's appointment at a local clinic. The doctor advised drinking plenty of fluids. 24 hours later he’s tongue was white and he had a sore throat along with another high temperature and cough was getting worse so I called 111 again and spoke to another doctor who advised the same as the previous doctor.
After another 3 days of the same symptoms, I called my doctor's surgery and managed to get a doctor's appointment there. The doctor said he has tonsillitis and an ear infection so she prescribed him antibiotics.
He has finished the antibiotics but he still has a horrible cough that won’t go away. I’m starting to feel hopeless 😞.
He’s drinking plenty of water ( going to the toilet more often lately) and I’m giving him lemon and honey in warm boiled water.
is there anything else I can try ? and anyone else in the same situation?
