Weird sensation under rib

Has anyone any experience of this,

I've noticed for a while that I have a sensation of feeling that something is under my left rib cage, I can't really call it a pain, but more a niggling feeling and pressure. I also am having discomfort in my back on the left side which I notice, particularly after eating. Sometimes I have a sharp pain in my back in the same place which takes my breath away, and other times it feels like a needling pain.

Thanks for any opinions on what this could be

Sounds like my fatty liver only mine is on my right side. Nothing sinister in my case (I’ve had 3 ultrasounds), but motivation to lose weight!

Have a look at splenic flexure syndrome - a type of irritable bowel syndrome, I get this too. It can be really uncomfortable.

@penelopepea that's interesting, it could be that. I've had 2 colonoscopies this year, would they pick it up on that? I'm also on iron tablets so I guess that could be a cause too

I'm not sure a colonoscopy would pick it up as I think it's to do with how the colon functions/moves rather than anything to see? But yes iron tablets could make it worse, mine is definitely worse when I'm constipated...

@penelopepea thank you, it definitely feels like I can feel like my colon moving after I've eaten, if you know what I mean
