Does anyone have this? I’m currently having all sorts of tests as they are trying to rule out other conditions first but more than one doctor/physio has mentioned fibro as a possibility. Any information, treatments etc very welcome. I have googled it but it would be good to hear from you guys.

I think it's a bit of a label they give when they can't find a specific diagnosis.

I was told I had it 5 years ago by a rheumatologist. I did not agree with him, I thought he was just lazily fobbing me off. I believed my symptoms were part of my RA. Eventually saw a different rheumatologist who agreed with me.

Like PP I also think it's a fob off diagnosis when they can't be bothered to find out what is wrong. They tried to label me with it. Turns out I have hypermobility and it is manageable. I was exhausted because I wasn't sleeping and I was taking so many painkillers I was rattling. No wonder I felt horrendous.
My mum has been diagnosed with it last year too. It's made no difference to her life. It's a case of "here's a label, we can't help you, but we've labelled it anyway". Well what good is that to anyone? She's also got hypermobility and it has led into Rheumatoid Arthritis and she's exhausted because she is also on so much medication for every ailment known to man. Her pain is because she's largely immobile and partially down to her mental health. She can be walking along in extreme pain hardly able to move, then the next second she's walking just fine, and then a minute later that's so much pain again. It isn't injury pain by any stretch of the imagination. And guess what, she's just handed yet more painkillers that do naff all.

I was 'diagnosed' with this at 26/27. I get slight raised bumps under the skin on certain joints.. mainly being my right knee, right inside elbow, and a pain/ache that just annoys the hell out of me and nothing gets rid of this. The cold definitely makes this flare up and that's when I feel it more. I was given naproxen but nothing really helps.. I just deal with it.
