Heavier and longer period

I do have a telephone appointment with my GP on the 3rd Jan (arranged the end of last week) but I’m getting increasingly concerned and don’t know whether I should be, or whether it’s the anxiety talking.

i started HRT patches earlier this year, which worked a treat with the sweats, anxiety, palpitations etc. i did, however, continue to have occasional bleeds, approximately 3-5 days every 6-8 weeks. Very light with no cramps etc.

then last Monday I started with the period from hell and it’s still going. Awful cramps the first few days, passing large clots (which is when I did an econsult) and although the clots have stopped, the bleeding hasn’t. I’m going through at least 6-8 pads in 24 hours, which I know doesn’t meet the criteria for emergency help, but it just doesn’t feel right. It looks more liquidy than normal, if that makes any sense.

due to a disability I have limited feeling/sensation in that area, so while I think something is niggling me (as in a pain), I’m not too sure. I do have a pain in my left flank though which comes and goes.

I keep looking at the 111 site and seeing how busy they are and thinking well I do have an appointment on the 3rd Jan, maybe I can hang on. But I’m not sure I can - I’m having to sit on blankets as I keep leaking through my clothes. I have never experienced this before so I’m a bit clueless and looking for some reassuring words please Flowers

I think the advice is generally to seek immediate help if you are soaking through a pad more than once an hour but because it's been going on for a while it's probably worth calling 111 for advice.

Thanks @historicalnews I called 111, who advised to remove my patch until my appointment next week. I'm so torn at what to do - I want/need the bleeding to stop, but really dont want previous symptoms to return Sad
