Sorry for the very unfestive post complete with Turkey legs. Did anyone else get a rash like this after the feverish virus going round? And if it were you. How would you treat it on Christmas Eve? It’s up to my belly button and on arms

Is it raised at all? Have a Google of guttate psoriasis.i had this over summer following an illness. Looks similar but a bit different to yours.

I get a post viral rash after most viral illnesses. It's usually a massive crop of flat spots. I don't do anything and it fades after a couple of days. The rash doesn't generally itch. Only if the spots join up does it itch, and then I am very careful what I wear and what I wash with. Still fades within a couple of days. Might need bland moisturiser afterwards.

As it's not a reaction to antibiotics, it's a viral rash. As long as it's not feeling like sandpaper, it will fade in a couple of days. Not much you can do about it. There are so many rashes and skin conditions unless it's a known one, like scarlet fever or chicken pox or an allergy, there's not much you can do. Impressive though.

Hi Op thank you for sharing.

I have a rash similar to this one. Mine is on my chest and face. My rash appeared a few days after my covid jab in October. It’s not itchy but just unslightly I have tried various treatments. Including sudocrem, hydrocortisone cream, anti histamine cream.

The anti histamine cream does calm it down. A few days later it appears again.

Sorry if haven’t helped much. Sending you a hug xx

I had that a few days after the virus appeared. Drove me crackers! I soothed it with calamine lotion and ice packs.

It went in a couple of days. I wish I could say the same for the cough.

Op does it blanch with a glass? Are you well in yourself? It looks like petechiae which is caused by low blood platelets, usually appears after a virus, when the body fights the virus but continues to fight and lowers your blood platelets, hence that rash.

Thank you so much for your replies . It got worse and doesn’t change under a glass, so I’m getting it checked just in case but I think you’re most likely right and it’s a viral rash , petechiae seems likely. Thank you again and merry Christmas to you all. If anything does become of it I’ll let you know

Sorry to bump, but what was the outcome? My child has similar spots after a virus. Nowhere near as bad, just some on the top of his foot
