Awful stomach pain after starting lansoprazole - should I stop?

Hi

A recent gastroscopy confirmed erosive gastritis and oesophagitis. I started lansoprazole to treat it about five days ago, started with an upset stomach two days ago and now feel bloody awful! Stomach pain, sh*ts, nausea. Should I stop taking it? I’m assuming it’s that.

I had this (for silent reflux), GP switched me to omeprazole which was fine.

I couldn’t get on with it , but I had nausea, I stopped it but I went to drs and they changed it to omperazole, but that was 3 years ago not easy to see a dr now

How are you taking it? It’s meant to be half an hour before any food.

I had exactly this! I felt worse and had worse pains on the lansaprzole (sorry for spelling!) than before I started taking them. The dr switched me to omeprazole which worked a treat. I couldn’t pick them up for a while so I bought Savers own brand (£4 a pack) to tide me over a few days, would really recommend if you’re struggling to get in with a dr. Hope you feel better soon x
