Ive recently started taking omeprazole for suspected acid reflux. My symptoms were only a pain in the centre of my chest/sternum and back pain. I don't get nausea, a bad taste, and it doesn't feel like the heart burn I had when pregnant.
Ive had an ECG, a fitq test and full blood count. I am anaemic and on iron tablets.
I stared taking the omeprazole and within 4/5 days the pain was gone and so I thought the doctor had got it right.
Unfortunately in the last few days the pain has returned and I think worse than before.
I guess I'm asking for opinions on whether this sounds like GERD, and if so why is the omeprazole no longer working?
Or you I be asking for further tests for something else....
