Have taken 8 Neurofen in 24hrs last 3 days, should I worry?

Ive got dreading flu the illest I’ve ever felt in my life. Doctor told me to alternate paracetamol and ibruprofen to manage fever and pain in ribs from coughing.

clearly I’m an idiot and didn’t read packet properly, assumed that ibuprofen is 4 doses jn 24 hours like paracetamol is. Last 3 days I have taken early morning, mid morning, afternoon and evening (all at least 4 hours apart) 2 200mg tablets each time.

should I be concerned or looking out for side effects? So worried!

You can take more than 1600mg a day under medical guidance NHS Guidance
so I think I'd stop taking ibuprofen for a day or two - at which point you are hopefully feeling better - and only seek medical advice if you feel more unwell than currently.

No idea but you are absolutely not the only one OP. I can't figure out if I've taken 4 or 5 doses of paracetamol in 24hrs as I am so ill. I guess time will tell if the sweet release of death awaits me.

Nope. You can take 800mg as a single dose so you are under that with only 400mg. (I have this information from a GP, a Consultant and a Pharmasist - I take 2 x 800mg every day for chronic pain and am able to add in a 3rd dose when necessary as advised by my Consultant.)
