Saw my GP last week after feeling that one breast and armpit was different to the other (swelling to armpit and some intermittent itching to breast.) GP checked me out and wasn't concerned but advised he would refer me anyway to put my mind at rest. I asked about time frame and he said all breast referrals are likely to be on the 2 week timeframe (but reiterated that he doesn't think I have cancer) but could be up to 6 weeks if not deemed urgent.
A week has passed and I've heard nothing, but obviously post is a shambles at the mo. I've got the NHS app and it's linked to my GP records so I've been checking for messages/appointments but nothing there.
Should I phone up the hospital to check if the referral has gone through? Can anyone tell me how it was for them?
