my watch says things have changed a little with resting heart rate ? I’ve had a bad cold and flu recently could this be why ?

64 resting is still pretty low?

RoseAndGeranium · 19/12/2022 19:47

Yes, infections usually raise heart rate a bit. See if it goes back down in a week or two. But 64bpm isn’t disastrous anyway!

Aroloruns · 19/12/2022 19:48

Yes, RHR goes up when your body is working harder to recover. Illness, hard workours, stress all impact it. Keep an eye on it but still well within normal ranges.

Mine is on average 54. I'm not an incredible fit athlete or anything. It's just my normal-but that might be seen a low for others

gamerchick · 19/12/2022 19:49

Mind did that for a few weeks after that brutal lurgy. It's back in the 50s now. I wouldn't worry, that's still decent.

boardwatcher · 19/12/2022 19:49

Yes, it'll be because you were ill. Mine was about 10 beats higher when I had covid and gradually came back down in the following weeks.

user175438765 · 19/12/2022 19:51

It will be the cold/flu you had, Covid and all the Covid vax I had put mine up from about 65 to about 90, it was back to normal within a couple of weeks

Lifesforloving1 · 19/12/2022 19:56

Thanks everyone xx

60-90 is normal for an adult

over 100 is tachycardic but can have many causes and not necessarily a problem - if you’re unwell it will possibly raise.

Splodgerbodgerbadger · 19/12/2022 20:03

Yes it will be because you’ve been unwell. Mine always goes up when I’m ill apparently I had very high stress levels too the last time I was ill even though I was in bed most of the day.
