90 year old - stroke

Hi everyone.

My Grandma, 90 years old has had a mild stroke. Went to hospital with a hip injury, then had a mild stroke in hospital. Always had issues with her hip but other than this always been mentally fit and generally well for her age. I saw her the other day and she is still mentally all there, chatting, just understandably a bit frail.

I am just unsure as what to expect now. I know from experiences of others and my own that when the very elderly go into hospital with one thing and then other things end up happening it often does not end up well.

I know it's individual of course. I just want to be mentally prepared so I can support my Dad. I am interested in the experiences of others.

Thank you.

My 101 year mil suffered a severe stroke 10 years ago. She needs 24 hour care as can't walk or even stand on her own but still living at home. Had she been given the correct treatment immediately following her stroke, she would probably still be mobile. So your Grandma could still live a good life for years to come?
