Constantly feeling sick/diarrhoea

Indoorvoicesbluey · 19/12/2022 12:48

irs been on going for over 2 weeks now. I have ibs but this seems to be worse and nothing is helping. I have no appetite and I constantly feel sick/be sick for absolutely no reason. I have diarrhoea all day as well no matter how many Imodiums I take. Nothing seems to be settling my stomach and I feel so weak and poorly. I don’t think it’s a bug as “fingers crossed” everyone else seems ok. My stomach is so sore :( fed up!

Gastropareisis?

Indoorvoicesbluey · 19/12/2022 16:40

I always thought I could have this. It has seemed to have gotten worse. I’m stuffed after barely eating anything. I’m a fat girl so not usually like me, I can eat something (like tuna is a big one) and still feel it in my stomach hours and hours later. It really makes me feel sick.

Make an appointment with ur doctor. Have u tried cutting gluten out of your diet. My friend has been.back and forth to docs as had diarrhoea for weeks. Has been in real pain. Cutting out the gluten has really helped.

Visit to the GP. But in the meantime. Nil by mouth bar water for 24 hours. You may have a bug that needs to be starved. STOP the immodium during this time

Indoorvoicesbluey · 19/12/2022 18:07

Iv not ate since last night but still some now throwing up and pooping lots. It’s been going on for a while now. I even tried yakult for a week 😩

OP posts:
Eixample · 19/12/2022 19:31

When you throw up, do you recognise the food from more than a day ago?
Probiotics (proper ones, not yakult etc, ask the pharmacist) can help.
Liquid diet, small frequent meals, not eating 3 hours before lying, and lots of walking can help a bit while you wait to see the dr.

Indoorvoicesbluey · 19/12/2022 20:14

Yeah, I can tell what Iv ate. I wonder if this is food poisoning/a bug as Iv thrown up loads. My stomach is so sore and I’m passing alot of gas/diarrhoea that smells like nothing Iv smelt before. I’m in absolute agorny :(

There’s a Facebook group for people with gastropareisis/suspected gastropareisis/functional dyspepsia, there’s lots of support and information on there and you can see if anything fits or helps.
Immodium might be continuing the cycle by slowing things down. If you have seen ‘old’ food in the vomit probably best to stop it for now.

LeadingStar · 19/12/2022 22:02

Could you be massively constipated? The loose stools could be a red herring if it's just what's getting past and the vomiting would be caused by being blocked for a long time too.

SkankingWombat · 19/12/2022 22:10

Is there the slightest possibility you might be pregnant? I had all kinds of crazy symptoms similar to this when I was unknowingly pg with DC1. I didn't think pregnancy was a possibility and had a GPs appointment booked to figure out what on earth had gone wrong with my body, as I was clearly quite unwell and it was not getting better. I took a test purely so I could cut the GP off at the pass and get on with discovering the 'real' issue when the inevitable question came - imagine the surprise...

Last year I was hospitalised with an intestinal blockage. My belly was rock hard, I was throwing up so much I had a tear in my oesophagus, and when I managed to pass wind it REEKED. The pain was unreal too.

A few days of lactulose sorted it, but bloody hell it was an awful experience. I really hope you get it sorted OP, you must be miserable!

Indoorvoicesbluey · 20/12/2022 11:59

Thank you all. I’m in agony and it’s ruining my Christmas. I’m unable to work and self employed so no money atm!

iv had diarrhoea 5 times this morning and sick once. I seem to feel sick as soon as I try and eat anything. I’m so hungry and thirsty lol

i took Imodium last night and managed to sleep abit but it’s worn off this morning. Iv rang the doctors.

it started a couple of weeks ago with feeling sick constantly and unable to eat much without feeling full, now it’s full blown sickness and diarrhoea.

Still in so much pain. Haven’t been able to leave the toilet without taking a lot of Imodium and that only gives me a few hours of rest before the cramping starts again. I feel so sick as well. Not been able to do anything yet!

Talking to old friend today. Remembered your thread and asked her about her experience. About ten years ago. She had your symptoms, collapsed one day. Really doesn't remember a lot after that but was told her OH got her to hospital. It was a blockage. They operated, removed dead parts of colon, put in a colostomy bag and stitched her up. She was out of it on drugs for weeks, spent two months in hospital because of sepsis which meant more surgery.

UncomfortableSilence · 23/12/2022 06:48

I can't see you mention that you've seen a GP yet, apologies if I've missed it. A bug wouldn't go on like this for over two weeks you really need to be seen. At the least you must be dehydrated with that amount of D&V. You should have a stool sample taken too, I would really try to get an appointment.

Indoorvoicesbluey · 23/12/2022 07:14

I have to drop a sample off today, I have such bad anxiety over it all about going out and then not making it in time or being somewhere there’s no toilets.

mt husband has slept in our room for the last 5 days because I keep passing wind and it honestly smells like something has died inside me.----

I’m ringing 111, I’m in agony. I can’t leave the house and my stomach is cramping so much. I have so much to do I can’t stop crying. Iv just tried going to our horses yard and nearly pooped myself on the way home.

OP posts:
Indoorvoicesbluey · 23/12/2022 10:41

i wonder if Iv got giardia? I have horrific smelling wind, to the point my husband wont sleep with me. The cramping is absolutely killing my stomach. Imodium doesn’t really do anything 😩

OP posts:
UncomfortableSilence · 23/12/2022 14:52

Can't your DH drop your sample off so you don't have to go out. Have you spoken to 111?

Indoorvoicesbluey · 23/12/2022 15:11

Doctor is treating me for Garidia, been given antibiotics. I can’t send a stool sample until Wednesday

OP posts:
justasking111 · 23/12/2022 15:24

Giardia is not treated with antibiotics

Indoorvoicesbluey · 23/12/2022 18:13

OMG I’ve got the same. I seem to have it for week or so then couple of weeks I have it again. I don’t want to eat but I’m on medication that I need to take with food so I nibble on a couple of biscuits but That causes me to run to the toilet and even been bringing up water! I’ve had it for 2 days this episode had nothing to eat but still got awful stomach cramps.
