Advice re really painful blister on foot WARNING.. GROSS PIC ATTACHED

This blister started on Tuesday due to new boots rubbing. I stupidly popped it on Wednesday morning and lots of puss came out. However, it's now come back with a vengeance. The picture shows half of it as the other half has a compeed plaster on which the pharmacist suggested I put on yesterday. However, it's so bloody painful I am struggling to walk and have to basically walk on the side of my foot on tip toe. I've got two big labs that need walking.

Can anyone suggest anything to speed up the healing process. Also, it's quite warm to the touch so I'm concerned it may be infected. (I had sepsis a few years ago so I'm a little anxious I suppose).

All advice gratefully received 😌

Thanks all, I'm out in the sticks and no walk ins close by. Chemist closes at 4, and I've been trying without success to get through to 111. I'll have to try again tomorrow. The thing that concerns me is that it has doubled in size over the last 12 hours and there's also a definite red ring around it. I'll soak it tonight and take some painkillers, and try the gp /111 tomorrow. Thanks again everyone x

Poor you, that looks awful! Is it on the sole of your foot? Can’t work it out from the photo. Does Savlon or similar have painkilling properties?

It's that big it's on the sole and the side of my foot. It's literally the size of a large egg!! I've got some savlon so I'll try that.

Omg op! I would try really hard to get someone/ anyone to look at that tomorrow. Send a photo to your gp, go to a pharmacy or a walk in. That looks very worrying. You must be agony. Draw a line around it if you can bear too. Or put a tape measure across it and take a photo. I feel for you

FolornLawn · 20/12/2022 07:38

How is it this morning, OP? It's an odd colour, is it full of blood? I wonder if one of those quick healing plasters would help, or maybe not if the skin isn't broken.

BayCityTrollers · 20/12/2022 07:46

That doesn’t look good. You definitely need some advice on that one, practise nurse probably best.

Hope it heals soon, looks horrendously painful.

Ihateboris · 20/12/2022 08:48

It's even bigger today and so painful. Off to a and e as doctor's receptionist told me that they haven't no appointments left today. GROSS PIC ATTACHED

Holy shit, that looks horrific. Hope you get sorted relatively quickly.

Justdiscovered · 20/12/2022 08:52

You need to go to a and e! I had similar and felt so stupid going to a and e but the pain was unbearable.
first time they sent me home with antibiotics.
got worse and had to go back, they then admitted me on the same day and operated on my foot as it has developed into cellulitis. I was so shocked did. It expect that outcome for. A blister!!
you must get a medical professional to look at it!

LoveAutumnColours · 20/12/2022 09:00

I agree - go to a&e. This is not normal, particularly as you’re soaking and not walking on it. Given you’ve had sepsis - get to a&e now. Take a taxi if you have to.

Sunnidaze · 20/12/2022 09:04

Wow, that looks so sore, you poor thing! Definitely time for some medical advice since it's not getting any better. Hope you can get it seen to quickly.

mincepiepie · 20/12/2022 09:20

Hope you get sorted at A and E

You have no other option sadly.

AGreatUsername · 20/12/2022 09:50

Oh that looks horrendous. Poor you! I agree I’d a&e that too at this point. Fingers crossed they can help!

Timeforabiscuit · 20/12/2022 09:54

Ouch! Agree that is a job for urgent care, hope you get some relief soon.

Purplecatshopaholic · 20/12/2022 09:55

Gosh that looks awful. Let us know how you get on!

IncessantNameChanger · 20/12/2022 13:54

Holy shit indeed! You poor thing. I hope A&E can sort you out.

I must admit I am coming around to the idea of buying second shoes on Vinted as someone else has already broken them in.

Augend23 · 20/12/2022 14:02

Waaaaaaaah that looks horrendous OP :(

I hope urgent care can get you sorted out. Might be a long wait so maybe get some snacks if you can.

Bestcatmum · 20/12/2022 14:11

Holy shit, I'm an NHS podiatrist and you need to get that sorted now!!! I really really hope you are not diabetic.

Ihateboris · 20/12/2022 14:21

Update : went to a and e. Nurse took one look at it and said it needed deroofing. Had this done which was very bloody painful, but a relief at same time to see all the gunk coming out. Its raw skin now so I've got to keep it bandaged, take antibiotics and go back in a couple of days. Also need crutches now to walk. Pics attached once the skin was taken off.. Not for the faint hearted!! Thank you all so very much for your advice and concern x
