Low iron postpartum

Did anyone suffer with low iron? I had low iron while pregnant with my second who was born 10 weeks ago. I ignored advice to take iron tablets and now 10 weeks post partum I’m anemic. Is this normal ? I didn’t have excessive blood loss !

Yes it's normal because you didn't follow advice and take iron supplements with low iron during pregnancy to begin with, so it's just got lower. Can I ask why you didn't?
You don't have to suffer from extreme blood loss to have low iron. I've had low iron multiple times, be it from haemorraghing in all 3 labour's, heavy periods.. health in general - a mixture of things really.
Low iron can make you feel awful - make sure you're taking any given supplements or get yourself on some vitamins with iron in, and/or eat some foods that are rich in iron.

I didn’t want the constipation (silly I know) ! Will definitely take now. I expected it to just fix itself after birth, now feel horrendous ! Thank you for advice

I'd rather suffer with constipation that won't last forever than feeling how I do when I have low iron. It can be dangerous if it gets too low and you don't do anything about it. Take them with some orange juice - I've never really suffered with constipation badly so don't stress about it. I hope you feel better soon x

I'm the same and vitamin D
You can get the sachets on Amazon which are flavoured and have vitamin C in them
