My little girl has been complaining of a bit of a sore tooth when she eats, nothing too bad but my husband took her to the dentist to have a look. Literally they were in and out in 5 minutes, he said the dentist just shoved something up there and said that should fix it! Anyone any idea what he did? Obviously it wasn't a filling as there was no drilling and it was so quick and painless!

Why didn't he ask at the time? Or you could phone now.

They sometimes paint fluoride onto tiny cavaties in children, or use a very light filling.

Best to talk to them and find out.

What can you see on the tooth?

There seems to be something white that looks like a white filling?

Sounds like a temporary filling/dressing.
