How much do you spend on dental care per year (private)?

Aside from any work like fillings etc

How often do you go for a check up and to see the hygienist, too?

I haven't been to the dentist for about 3 years. I've moved and need to register at a new private practice. I know I need a couple of things doing like repair but wanted to have in my mind how much it costs nowadays.

You can just look at the fees section on your local dentists websites.
Prices will be more expensive in some areas than others so not sure if comparison is useful.
How often you see the hygienist will depend on the state of your gums and your own personal needs.

I go to my hygienist every 4/5 months.

It costs about £50, but can be up to £80 if your mouth requires a deeper clean.

Most dentist's have a price list on their websites.

I'm in the south east and pay £55 for a check up which includes X-rays and a detailed treatment plan. I needed two fillings, one was a small filling £120 and one medium £140. Both white fillings.

When I went back the following week I just paid the price for the fillings quoted, I didn't have another consultation fee added.

Hygienist is £60

We’re on a family plan with a private independent practise. 2 adults, 2 children. 6-monthly check up for everyone, and 6-monthly hygienist appointment for adults. Discount off any work that needs done. £28/month.
